In this video, Simon, General Manager, R&D Center at NVC Lighting, highlights an important shift for the lighting industry:
We need to move from thinking like experts to thinking from the perspective of the people who experience the problem.

Lighting sits at the intersection of many issues we increasingly care about — from visual health and sleep to wellbeing, productivity, and the environments in which we live, work and learn.

But creating genuinely healthy lighting requires more than understanding spectra, optics and laboratory results.
It requires collaboration across lighting, clinical medicine, education, technology and standards — and, most importantly, validation in real-world environments.

Another exciting direction is the move from static lighting to dynamic, intelligent lighting.
With AI, sensors and connected devices, lighting could increasingly respond to differences between people — their age, environment, routines and individual needs — rather than applying one solution to everyone.

The bigger opportunity is not simply to claim that lighting is “healthy.”
It is to build the standards, data, evidence and user feedback loops that allow people to understand and experience the value for themselves.

That is how healthy lighting can evolve from a product concept into a broader ecosystem.

From the laboratory → to real life.
From static → to intelligent.
From one-size-fits-all → to people-centred.
